Programs, times and fees
The foundation of our kindergarten program is about doing the very best for the children. They come first, and it’s important to make every child feel as if they have a special place at our kindergarten.
Our programs are structured to allow a mix of child led enquiry and teacher led curriculum, and they are carefully planned from a developmental viewpoint to ensure the best possible transition to school for your child.
As many children will be encountering kindergarten for the first time, we aim to make them feel secure and happy. We provide a comfortable learning environment to allow them to explore the world around them, and develop at their own pace. We aim to help the children:
- Become self-directed and independent, and develop their self-help skills
- Develop self-esteem and confidence
- Develop a positive and co-operative attitude towards their peers
- Develop their language skills
- Express themselves through art, music, language and movement
Session times: There is one group in the three-year-old program, with a maximum of 21 children. Children attend kindergarten for a total of eleven hours per week, spread over three sessions.
|Sessions||9.00am – 12.00pm||9.00am – 1.00pm||9.00am – 1.00pm|
Fees The fee for the three-year-old program in 2019 is $850 per term (there are four terms in the kindergarten year). This fee includes all incursions. A refundable maintenance levy of $80 is added to the term two fee. This fee is fully refunded in term four, provided that a member of the child’s family attends two working bees throughout the year. For more information about our fees, including timeframes for payment and concessions for health care card holders, read our policy for Enrolment Form 2018.
As part of our four-year-old program, a focus area is chosen every fortnight, and children are immersed in a range of activities related to that subject. Topics cover the arts and natural sciences, and may include dinosaurs, art appreciation, our community, the seasons and space. The program aims to foster wonder in our world through investigating, discovering, observing, classifying, communicating and encouraging creativity in a diverse range of activities. The children are encouraged to develop new skills, extend their imagination and participate with enthusiasm and co-operation.
Session times: In 2019 there is one group in the four-year-old program: and a maximum of 22 children in the class. Children will attend from 9am to 3pm for four days, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. This may change in future years.
